OUR MISSION Pilot International’s mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world.
To do this, we come together in friendship and service, focusing on encouraging brain safety and health and supporting those who care for others. Do More. Care More. Be
More.
Great Things Will Happen!
The North Carolina
District of Pilot International has a rich history of service and friendship.
We focus on transforming communities by developing youth, providing service and
education, and uplifting families. The first NC Pilot Club was chartered
in 1937 in Raleigh NC. Since that time, the NC District has grown and
maintained 19 Pilot Clubs from the mountains, foothills, Piedmont, sand hills,
and coastal plain regions of our state.
Each of our Pilot Clubs
is diverse and tailors its service activities to suit the requirements of its
communities. We gather together in fellowship and friendship at our annual
District Convention and Fall Workshop to share experiences and successes,
and learn new ways to connect and contribute to local communities. ;) | BrainMinders™
Pilot clubs in the North Carolina District support Pilot International's initial signature project, BrainMinders™. This program focuses on traumatic brain injury and brain disorders. The project encompasses a public service campaign designed to promote brain awareness and prevention education programs for children and adults. |
 | The Helmet People
Already focusing on brain health and safety
awareness through the signature BrainMinders™curriculum, our Pilot clubs
support the new safety helmet project, The Helmet People, by taking quality safety helmets to facilitate
the placement of free helmets with as many youth as possible. |
| Project Lifesaver - Bringing Loved Ones Home
Project Lifesaver, an international program that provides tracking devices in bracelets worn by individuals with Alzheimer's and autism, is being funded by local North Carolina Pilot clubs in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies to provide this service to very vulnerable populations. |
;) | Surfers Healing
In 2020-2021, continuing
in NC Pilot District tradition since 2015, the NC District is partnering with
Surfers Healing North Carolina Chapter at the Surfers Healing Camp in Wrightsville
Beach, NC. Pilot clubs sponsor autistic campers of all ages, and serve as
volunteers at the camp. This year’s “One Perfect Day” will be experienced in
August 2021 due to the global pandemic, but please join us in the sponsorship
funding by sending your donations to:
Surfers’ Healing, 4104 Waylon Rd, Wilmington NC 28411. |
;) ;)
| Brain Injury Association of North Carolina and Camp Carefree
Also, the NC District is
a partner with the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina (BIANC) and Camp
Carefree, which is the only camp experience for brain injury survivors in NC.
Pilot clubs sponsor campers each year through donations and volunteering. This
year’s camp dates have been postponed until 2021. Please see the BIANC Camp Carefree donation
form located in the “Forms” link. |
We would love to share new experiences with you! Project volunteers are always needed to help
meet local community needs and grow our Pilot family here in North Carolina. Join
us to Do More, Care More, Be More. For more information contact us at pilotdistrictnc@gmail.com.
